Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards 2021

University Apprenticeships Team: Employer of the Year (250+ employees)

(For organisations with 250 or more employees. Must have management autonomy in Oxfordshire, employ Apprentices that work in Oxfordshire and have employed Apprentices for at least 12 months before the closing date).

Congratulations to our apprenticeships team for being shortlisted for this award.

It is with great honour to say that the University of Oxford has been shortlisted as one of the final three employers for the 'Employer of the Year' Award in the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards. This is the first time the University has featured in this award, and we believe it demonstrates the hard work of the team over the last 6 months to further develop our apprenticeship programme raising awareness both internally and externally.

We are also delighted to see that two of our Apprentices have been selected as finalists for individual awards.

We look forward to the virtual awards ceremony in May and wish all the finalists the best of luck.

- Helen Johnson, Apprenticeships Manager

We are thrilled to have been shortlisted as one of the final three employers for this award. It's great to be part of such a fantastic apprenticeship network across Oxfordshire, and we are constantly striving to improve awareness of the apprenticeship route, particularly through our roles at the University of Oxford.

Individual Awards

Congratulations to Emilia Reyes Pabon and Ellie Knight who have been selected as finalists for individual awards:

Emilia Reyes Pabon
Advanced Apprentice of the Year

It feels great to be a finalist for the Advanced Apprentice of the Year Award as it means that my work as an apprentice and the things that I have achieved are being recognised not only by my organisation but also by other people and companies.

I’m really happy with what I’ve achieved so far and I’m looking forward to improving throughout my apprenticeship.

Ellie Knight
Special Recognition Award

Ellie Knight, Apprentice finalist, University of Oxford

Ellie Knight, University of Oxford

for an apprentice who has overcome significant challenges or barriers to learning or work.

It feels crazy to me as I have only been an apprentice for a year now (time has flown by!). I feel extremely grateful for being nominated, and even more grateful that I am now a finalist! I have to say that I am also very shocked to have been selected but I am over the moon about it.
