Apprenticeship Completions

Apprenticeship completion names 2020

As 2020 comes to the end, the Apprenticeships team takes a moment to celebrate those who have recently finished their Apprenticeship courses. This year, we saw over 35 employees successfully complete their Apprenticeship training. Whilst some have continued in their roles, others have moved onto the next level of training to develop their career even further.

Helen Johnson has recently taken Apprenticeships under her remit and shares her thoughts...

We are really pleased to be able to support Apprenticeship training for all members of staff. As we celebrate those who have finished this year, we look forward to 2021 where our efforts will be in continuing to support our current apprentices as well as exploring ways we can encourage more staff to take on Apprenticeship training to further their career development. We will also be supporting managers in the recruitment of new apprentices into the university.

Certificates

Some of our recent finishers received their Apprenticeship certificates in the post - we asked them how they felt to have completed their courses...

"My overall experience as an apprentice has been such a positive one, and one where I have developed a wide range of skills and knowledge that I know I will be able to adapt to any future job. As well as this I have developed confidence in my abilities and I know that will stick with me for a long time. Being an apprentice has kick started my career and I am so glad I decided to do an Apprenticeship".

“I can confidently say that completing my apprenticeship with the University of Oxford has been the most amazing experience of my life so far. I’m now studying at university and utilising all of the skills I learnt through my apprenticeship everyday. I’m forever grateful for the people I met and knowledge I gained over the past year and a half. I urge everyone to do an apprenticeship”.

- Harriet Goss

"My professionalism, networking and project management skills have been developed to a point I feel comfortable walking into any workspace, knowing the right questions to ask and tasks to complete in order to get the job done. "

- Sam Jones

"I was delighted to be one of the first people in the country to complete the new HR Consultant Partner (level 5) apprenticeship . I really enjoyed the opportunity to learn with HR colleagues from across the University and gain my professional CIPD qualification. At the end of my apprenticeship I was promoted into a new role as Recruitment Partner to put my newly-acquired skills into practice."

- Sue Morris

"If you told me at 19 in 2 years you will have finished a Digital Marketing apprenticeship and get your dream job at 21, I wouldn't have believed it! I am forever grateful for my apprenticeship, it’s helped me get my foot into the marketing world, meet some extraordinary people and gain a lot of experience and qualifications in a short period of time.

Since finishing my Digital Marketing apprenticeship at Saïd Business School (SBS) with a Distinction, I have started a new role at SBS. I'm looking to continue my personal development by signing up to Marketing courses and I'm planning to start a Digital Marketing diploma in September."
